Chapter 6 - Past Life Echoes

Kael stood alone in the center of it.

"…This again," he muttered, pressing a hand to his head.

The sky glitched—like reality itself couldn't decide what story it belonged to.

A figure appeared behind him. A boy with spiky blond hair, wearing orange.

"Hey! You okay?"

Kael turned slowly.

"…You're loud." The boy blinked. "Huh?"

Before he could answer, a ripple tore through space. A black-haired swordsman stepped out, blade already drawn, eyes sharp and calculating.

"…This place isn't normal."Kael exhaled. "None of you are supposed to be here."

Another distortion.

A man in a dark cloak, presence suffocating, stepped forward—power pressing down like gravity itself.

"…Interesting," the man said. "A soul carrying multiple existences."

Kael froze.That voice, that feeling.

Something inside him snapped open.

Blood, fire, a throne.

A battlefield covered in bodies.

His right eye burned gold."…I know you," Kael whispered.

The cloaked man tilted his head slightly. "Do you?"

Kael's posture changed, his voice deepened, becoming colder,"You were there when I fell."

The air shifted violently. The blond boy stepped back. "Uh… guys? He just got way scarier."

The swordsman narrowed his eyes. "His presence changed completely…"

Kael lifted his head.

No... not Kael anymore.

"Once," he said calmly, "you called me a king."

Power erupted from him—ancient, suffocating, familiar to no single world.

The cloaked man smiled faintly.

"Then show me… what you've become."

The ground shattered, Kael moved first—faster than thought.

The swordsman's eyes widened. "I didn't even see—!"

Impact.

Shockwaves tore through the battlefield.

The blond boy grinned despite himself.

"Okay… he's kinda awesome."

But Kael didn't hear it, because inside, thousands of voices spoke:

Fight.

End him.

Spare him.

Remember.

Kael staggered mid-motion.

"—No…"The Echo flickered. For a split second, his expression changed back—fear, confusion,"I'm not—him—!"

The swordsman stepped in, blade intercepting the cloaked man's attack.

"Get a hold of yourself," he said coldly.

The blond boy jumped in beside Kael.

"Hey! Stay with us, okay?!"

Kael dropped to one knee, clutching his head,"…I remember dying here," he whispered.

"…But this place doesn't even exist."

The cloaked man watched silently.

"…A fractured soul across realities," he murmured.

"How fascinating."

Kael slowly stood, his gold eye flickered, "…I'm done being your memory."

For the first time, the voices went quiet.
