Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Welcome to Douluo Continent!

Half an hour later.

The streets within a two-kilometer radius were completely blocked off, and yellow and black warning lines, usually only seen in counter-terrorism drills, were erected.

Dozens of unmarked black SUVs surrounded the police station, and two silent drones even hovered in the sky.

Meanwhile, at the eye of the storm was the police station cafeteria.

Su Yun was sitting in a specially designed high chair, holding an Orleans roasted chicken leg in both hands, eating with gusto.

Several botanical experts in white coats were gathered around the stainless steel thermos that Su Yun had just brought back.

"How is it? Is it some kind of miracle drug?"

Professor Li stood to the side, craning his neck, his tone full of anticipation.

"Can eating this prolong life?"

Professor Wang, the botany professor in charge, pushed up his glasses, looked at the data on the screen, and although his tone was excited, the content was very objective.

"You're overthinking it. From a cellular perspective, this thing has about the same nutritional value as roadside foxtail grass, and it's even more fibrous. The taste might not even be as good as lettuce."

Professor Li looked disappointed.

"Huh? That's just a pile of tattered grass?"

"No, this is the most amazing part!"

Professor Wang suddenly turned around, waving the report in his hand.

"Its chloroplast structure and cell wall arrangement are completely different from any plant that exists on Earth, or even in the fossil record! This is irrefutable evidence of an extraterrestrial species in biology! It proves that an ecosystem with an independent evolutionary tree does indeed exist!"

Although it didn't have any miraculous effects, the words "alien species" were enough to make all the officials present's eyes burn with excitement.

Just then, the cafeteria door was pushed open.

A burly, middle-aged man dressed in casual clothes but exuding an aura of steel strode in.

He glanced at Su Yun, who was gnawing on a chicken leg, and without saying a word, pulled out a chair and sat down opposite Su Yun.

Because Su Yun was sitting in a children's high chair, their lines of sight were just level.

"I am Lei Zhan, the leader of the Security Domain Special Operations Group. You can call me Uncle Lei or Commander Lei."

Lei Zhan's voice was deep and powerful, and his eyes were sharp as knives.

"The DNA comparison results are in, and you are indeed Su Yun, who disappeared six years ago. Although science can hardly explain why you have shrunk, that door says it all."

Su Yun was somewhat surprised to hear that their DNA was the same.

I always thought I had transmigrated into a soul, but I never expected that I had actually transmigrated into a physical body.

Lei Zhan tapped the table: "But you said you wanted to go back?"

"right."

Su Yun pulled out a napkin and wiped her mouth, her little face instantly turning serious.

"My martial soul is a gate. As long as I remain here, my soul power will be constantly draining away in order to maintain the coordinate anchor points between the two planes."

"Although I was born with full soul power and my mana bar is longer than the average person, I still can't withstand this kind of massive drain every second."

He glanced at the wall clock, his tone becoming urgent.

"If my soul power is exhausted on Earth, not only will this door be closed forever, but I may also die from the backlash of my martial soul."

What kind of support do you need?

Su Yun stretched out a small, tender hand.

"A gun. I need a Type 92 rifle, with plenty of ammunition. There are man-eating spirit beasts over there."

"Nonsense!"

Before Lei Zhan could speak, the police equipment expert next to him became anxious.

"Kid, the recoil of the Type 92 rifle is no joke. At your age, your bones haven't fully developed yet. If you fire it, your wrist will break! You'd be better off with a stun gun or pepper spray."

Su Yun sighed and jumped off the chair.

"I knew you wouldn't believe me."

He walked to the corner of the cafeteria, where several thick solid wood dining tables, which had just been stacked up to make room, were piled up.

Su Yun took a deep breath, and the surging level 10 soul power within him flowed throughout his body.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, this adorable little child, who is only a little over a meter tall, grabbed the bottom table leg with one hand.

"drink!"

A soft, childish murmur.

Then, something truly jaw-dropping happened—

He effortlessly lifted that solid wood square table, weighing several dozen kilograms, along with the two chairs stacked on top of it, over his head with just one hand!

He even shook it without changing his expression.

"this..."

The police equipment expert gaped, his jaw nearly hitting his foot.

"The energy system of that world is called soul power."

Su Yun put down the table, her face neither flushed nor out of breath, and patted the dust off her hands.

"I was born with full soul power. Although I don't have any soul rings yet, this body has been tempered by soul power, making it stronger than a grown man. Now, can I have the gun?"

A glint flashed in Lei Zhan's eyes, and he immediately made the decision.

"Give him! Two standard loads of ammunition!"

At this moment, the technician who had been working on the debugging device suddenly interjected.

"Team Leader Lei, wait a minute. Since we're going to send him back, we need to solve the communication problem. We just did an experiment."

The technician pointed to the corner door that had automatically closed due to the timeout.

"Just a second before the door closed, we threw in a military signal transmitter. Now the door is closed, but... our receiver can still receive a clear signal!"

"What?"

Lei Zhan and the old professor stood up at the same time.

"This means that the spatial barrier between the two planes does not completely isolate electromagnetic waves, or in other words, Su Yun himself is the human-shaped antenna."

The technician was so excited that he spoke very quickly.

"As long as we put a small individual base station on his back, we can achieve cross-dimensional communication!"

Lei Zhan immediately looked at Su Yun

"Can you carry it?"

"As long as it doesn't exceed fifty pounds, you can carry it however you like."

Su Yun shrugged.

"Alright!" Lei Zhan waved his hand.

"Since the signal is working, let's not hide anything. Give him a top-of-the-line individual combat communication system. And—"

Lei Zhan paused, a hint of boldness flashing in his eyes.

"Since it can transmit data, let's just start a live stream for him."

"live streaming?"

Su Yun was stunned for a moment

"For whom?"

"Show it to us, show it to the expert group."

Lei Zhan pointed to the busy staff around him.

"We need to obtain video footage of that world as soon as possible to analyze its environment, biology, and language. We will provide you with an encrypted live stream as a record of our operation."

...

Ten minutes later.

At this moment, Su Yun has been completely transformed.

He was wearing a black tactical vest that had been specially altered to a smaller size. Although it still looked a bit like he was wearing adult clothes, it gave him a strange, child prodigy agent vibe when paired with his cool, aloof face.

Behind it is a silver-gray square box, which is a small military base station.

On the outside of his right thigh was strapped a Type 92 pistol that felt like a hand cannon to him.

The tactical goggles were worn on the right eye, and the red light on the temple was flashing slightly, indicating that the live broadcast signal had been connected.

"Listen, 001."

Lei Zhan's voice came through the headset.

"Only a few leaders and experts with the highest authorization can see the live stream. Your task is simple: survive, and then let us see that world."

"receive."

Su Yun adjusted his breathing, then raised his hand again and slashed it sharply into the air.

Buzz—!

The dark blue vortex of light opened once more.

This time, there was no hesitation, and no wasted words.

Su Yun adjusted his tactical glasses, which were about to slip down, carried the base station that was wider than himself on his back, and stepped into the portal with his short legs.

"Goodbye, police officers. I'll bring you real local specialties next time I come back."

The light and shadow swallowed his small figure.

The next second, the large screen on the wall of the special operations team flickered, and the connection was established.

Although the image is somewhat shaky, the clarity is extremely high.

It was a grove of towering ancient trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves and casting dappled shadows.

Off-screen, Su Yun's childish yet excited voice could be heard, accompanied by the crisp "click" of the bolt being pulled back.

"Hello? Can you hear me, Special Command? This is Pioneer No. 001, Su Yun."

Welcome to... Douluo Continent!
