If Julian had been willing to come to his senses then, Ryan could have convinced himself to trust him one last time.
But he didn't.
Julian hadn't given Evelyn a chance, so Ryan wasn't going to give his brother one either.
"I didn't know the specifics at the time! When Jane died, Evelyn was the only one there. My suspicion was a logical deduction! What did I do wrong?"
"She is your wife." Ryan looked directly into his brother's eyes, not flinching in the slightest. "When it comes to my wife, my first instinct would never be to doubt her, no matter how obvious the evidence seemed!"
When you're partners, you should give each other the utmost trust.
My first reaction would always be to protect my woman! Even if my wife were truly at fault, it would be my place to talk to her, not to immediately run to the opposition!
