Zane Hawthorne didn't see her message. He was actually in a meeting.
He had been held up for too long at The Donovan Group's opening event, so the meeting had been pushed back until now.
When he didn't reply, Zoe Rhodes tried Mr. Vance.
When Mr. Vance didn't reply either, she bombarded Lawson.
Lawson didn't answer. She... scrolled through her contacts. 'Looks like there's no one left to bother,' she thought.
Zoe Rhodes tossed her phone aside and pounded a throw pillow.
"Zane Hawthorne, that—"
Zoe Rhodes wanted to curse him out, but not too harshly. In the end, she couldn't find the right words and, in her anger, chugged two glasses of ice water.
In her entire life, she had never met anyone, aside from Zane Hawthorne, who treated their own body with such disregard!
She'd heard from Mr. Vance and Miss Flora before that Zane Hawthorne hadn't been taking care of himself over the years. Though he was still young, his health was like that of a forty-year-old.
