Zoe Rhodes was clearly distracted during her afternoon class.
Kiara Sutton nudged her arm, a gossipy look on her face. "So? How'd it go? Did you confess?"
Zoe Rhodes propped her chin on one hand and chuckled at the question.
"Ooh, looks like there's good news."
Kiara's eyes twinkled teasingly. "He must have been incredibly moved, right?"
Having the person you like confess to you first is the stuff of daydreams.
"He did seem pretty worked up."
Kiara clicked her tongue twice. "I can see that. Your lip is split. The battle must have been fierce."
Zoe Rhodes pressed her lips together, trying to hide it guiltily, but it was no use.
Her cheeks flushed slightly. 'I was going to say I bit it myself, but that excuse sounds so lame.' In the end, she just kept quiet and let her assume.
After class, Kiara Sutton asked if she wanted to go hang out.
