The Vermilion Bird's body was about fifty feet long. It had a head like a golden pheasant, a neck like a red serpent, and was covered in scaled feathers. Its entire body burned with Flame, and as it flew, embers rained down like red stars—a beautiful, dreamlike sight.
Although it was far away, Lin Ming could clearly feel the immense pressure it radiated, a pressure that made his heart pound.
The pressure caused Lin Ming's speed to drop drastically. His heart tightened, and he couldn't help but glance back at the Flame Child, afraid it would catch up. To his surprise, the Flame Child was faring even worse. It had stopped completely, staring at the Vermilion Bird in the sky, its small face filled with terror.
Lin Ming was stunned. 'Hmm? Is it scared?'
Just then, the Vermilion Bird lowered its head and glanced down at the Flame Child. That single glance seemed to scare the soul right out of the Flame Child. It let out a miserable shriek, turned, and fled!
