Probably from not sleeping well last night, Joyce Monroe was still a little groggy when her grandmother hastily hung up the phone. "I'll wait for you. No need to rush, as long as I can be discharged sometime this morning."
As Joyce washed up, she wondered, 'What is Grandmother planning to do?'
'She cares so much about her reputation and wants to maintain her "good grandmother" persona. She wouldn't want to be accused of favoring grandsons over granddaughters, so what kind of stunt could she pull in public?'
'Probably...'
'She's going to try and set me up with Jasper Quinn again.'
Her mind raced with thoughts. As she left the bedroom, fully dressed, she immediately spotted Silas Thorne standing on the balcony, talking on the phone.
His fair complexion contrasted with his black athletic wear, giving him a bright, crisp air.
Their eyes met, and Silas Thorne gave her a nod. But Joyce's gaze drifted, eventually...
...landing on his lips.
