Joyce was touched, but after hearing her brother's words, she pushed him away. "Bro, with a mouth like yours, even if you found a girlfriend, she'd get fed up and leave you sooner or later."
"What's wrong with my mouth?" Kian Jacobs took off his outer windbreaker, revealing a black shirt underneath. He rolled up his sleeves, exposing his firm, powerful forearms as he took a sip of water from a thermos.
The thermos was a gift from Joyce, and the stickers on it were hers, too. He had used it for years without ever replacing it.
"I really don't get how you and Thorne became friends."
"You're comparing me to him?"
Kian Jacobs had a major sister complex. He was well aware that Silas Thorne was his brother-in-law and that any comparison was meaningless. But his own sister's tone clearly implied he was inferior to Thorne, and that was something he couldn't tolerate.
