Zoe Monroe was stunned for several seconds when she heard this. 'So it was Kian who helped me.' She immediately turned around. "Thank you, Kian. I'll be more careful from now on."
"From now on?" Kian Jacobs raised an eyebrow. "Who else are you planning to go after?"
"I..."
"Just focus on your work. And if anything comes up, talk to the family right away," Kian Jacobs said bluntly.
'If she keeps dealing with people like that old woman, fighting back when they scheme against her is the right move. But if she runs into someone truly difficult, it's not like there will always be someone to help her in time. There's no guarantee she won't get into trouble.'
"I understand," Zoe Monroe said in a muffled voice, her head slightly bowed.
Kian Jacobs frowned. 'Was my tone too harsh?'
'She looks so frightened.'
So he softened his voice and added, "If you don't feel comfortable talking to your parents and you need help with something, you can come to me."
"Okay, thank you, Kian."
