The old Monroe residence
Joyce Monroe entered the house. About ten seconds later, a gust of cold wind swept in, and Kane seemed to snap to her senses. Shivering, she hurried inside, glanced at the young miss before her, and then timidly toward Mrs. Monroe's room...
"Don't even think about warning her. It's too late." Joyce Monroe poured herself a cup of hot tea and leisurely strolled toward her grandmother's bedroom.
Meanwhile, Ryan Roth was being held up by bodyguards, already at the door to Mrs. Monroe's bedroom.
He was cowering, not daring to enter.
He hesitated at the doorway. The bodyguards were just following orders and looked completely bewildered, not daring to rush him.
Just as Ryan Roth turned to run, he found that Joyce Monroe had appeared behind him at some point. She was sipping her tea and staring at him, her gaze casual yet seemingly warning him:
'I dare you to run!'
"Mr. Roth, since you've already made your choice, there's no turning back."
