Joyce Monroe had been feeling a bit drowsy, but now she was wide awake.
Their eyes met. Rose Wentworth couldn't help but size her up. 'So this is the girl Mr. Kian pampers. I have to admit, she's much prettier in person than in photos and videos.'
'She probably has no idea that ever since she and Silas Thorne went public, the Northgate social scene has been in an uproar.'
'After all, she had a bad reputation and once fervently pursued an illegitimate son. Even if she's cleaned up her image now, most people still think…'
'She isn't worthy!'
Rose Wentworth naturally thought so too. But when her gaze fell on Joyce Monroe's beautiful eyes, she seemed to have a sudden realization. Smiling, she greeted them, "Mr. Thorne, hello, sister-in-law. It's a pleasure to meet you for the first time. I'm Rose Wentworth, and I'm here to pick up my cousin."
Joyce Monroe smiled and said, "Hello."
Silas Thorne's expression was cold; he hadn't expected her to show up either.
