'The office? Such a prim and proper place, and we're talking about *this*?'
Silas Thorne looked at her, his expression as serious as if she were discussing a multi-million dollar contract.
"What kind of married couple makes agreements about this sort of thing?" Joyce Monroe asked, her face a picture of astonishment.
"Well, have you ever seen a couple who's been married for over two years and are only now sharing a bed?" Silas Thorne retorted. "Besides, every couple has their own way of doing things."
"Then, how about... once..." Joyce Monroe clutched her cup, tentatively suggesting, "...a week?"
Silas Thorne raised an eyebrow, gently twirling the fountain pen in his hand. His voice was mild as he dropped a bomb:
"Five times a week. I'll give you the weekend off."
Joyce Monroe was so agitated she nearly jumped out of her skin.
'Five times, with two days off? That's practically a work schedule! Oh, thanks so much for giving me the weekend off!'
