The moment Megan Kane saw Jason Forrester leave, she stopped crying and instantly stood up.
Before anyone could react, she strode over to the hospital bed.
"Blair White, you better open your eyes wide."
She raised her hand and slapped her twice across the face without a shred of mercy.
Disbelief filled Blair White's wide eyes.
A smile played on Megan Kane's lips.
"Cry. Go on, keep crying."
"Weren't you crying your heart out just a minute ago? Why'd you stop?"
"I said, keep crying."
The more Megan Kane slapped her, the more she got into it. She simply couldn't stop.
She had only held back earlier to save Jason Forrester some face.
The people standing behind her quickly rushed forward to break up the fight.
The commotion also drew the attention of the medical staff, and the scene descended into chaos.
"Stop stepping on me! That's my hand!"
"Who's kicking me? Would you mind looking where you're going? I'm on the floor here!"
The hospital room was more chaotic than a marketplace.
Shouts and cries filled the air.
Meanwhile, Blair White lay on the hospital bed with a pitifully wronged expression, her hands cupping her cheeks.
Her mind slowly registered the fact that she had just been slapped.
Megan Kane, however, felt refreshed and invigorated. It wasn't until the relevant authorities arrived that she was forcibly detained and escorted away.
"You green tea bitch, remember this: every time I see you cry in front of me, I'm going to hit you."
Megan Kane delivered this parting shot as she was being led away.
...
A brand-new Maybach pulled up to the entrance.
Jason Forrester, his face dark, arrived at the station to bail her out. His fists were clenched, and the urge to hit someone was bubbling just beneath the surface.
"Can't you just stay out of trouble for one day? You cause a scene here, you cause a scene there. Is there something wrong with your head?"
Jason Forrester had never been this angry before.
He realized that ever since Megan Kane entered his life, he was constantly having to run damage control.
He was either running PR campaigns or trying to bury negative trends; otherwise, her ugly antics would have completely dominated the trending topics.
Megan Kane pursed her lips.
"I was the one who got hit, and you took her side right in front of me. How is that fair?"
"The person who hit me is still enjoying her time in the hospital, getting away with it."
Megan Kane showed no sign of remorse.
She was practically hoping Jason Forrester would get fed up with her and break up with her already.
That would save her from a miserable end later on.
Without a word, Jason Forrester grabbed Megan Kane's wrist and started dragging her outside.
Megan Kane struggled with all her might. "What are you doing? Are you trying to kidnap a young woman? If you don't let go, I'm going to scream for help!"
In the end, Jason Forrester still managed to forcibly shove her into the car.
Jason's expression was one of annoyance. "Wipe that dead-inside look off your face. If I hadn't bailed you out, you wouldn't be getting out of there at all."
"And stop twisting the facts. She's a patient in a hospital room. How could she have hit you?"
"Did she suddenly grow eight arms like an octopus to hit you with?"
Jason Forrester's eyebrow twitched, his chest heaving with anger.
He felt that Megan Kane's recent craziness had completely overshadowed his own.
The internet was full of posts like, "The Forrester family's madwoman is out shopping today! Evacuate immediately!"
It was like a monster was on the loose, striking fear into the hearts of the public.
Megan Kane rested her chin on her hand and gazed out the window, ignoring Jason Forrester.
More importantly, she knew she didn't have a leg to stand on.
...
Blair White was frantically trying to call him, wanting to pour out her grievances, but the call wouldn't go through.
Jason Forrester had irritably turned off his phone. He couldn't stand to listen to Blair's sob story anymore; his head felt like it was about to explode.
Seeing her chance, Megan Kane shot Jason Forrester a sardonic look.
"Why aren't you answering your phone? That's your darling lover calling!"
"But I bet it's just another, 'Oh, big brother, I ran into some thugs on the street, come save me!' or maybe, 'That mean Megan Kane is bullying me again!'"
"'I won't be angry. It's all my fault. Please don't blame her, okay, big brother?'"
"A lover as amusing as her is hard to find. You should treasure her!"
Megan Kane's laughter echoed as she spoke, and she even patted Jason Forrester heavily on the back.
'My impression was absolutely brilliant, a perfect imitation,' she thought.
"Say what you just said again."
"I didn't hear you clearly."
The smile on Jason Forrester's face froze.
He thought that if not for the last shred of his reason,
he would have personally twisted the neck of the woman before him and kicked it like a ball.
"Ahem, I was just talking in my sleep. What I actually said was that you're very handsome. Don't overthink it. Getting angry is bad for your health."
Megan Kane said the insincere words, but she didn't dare to meet Jason Forrester's gaze.
'He who understands the times is a wise man. It's no big deal to know when to yield.'
"Since you love saying 'big brother' so much, you're going to write the words 'big brother' ten thousand times when we get back."
"I'll check it when I get back. If you're short even one, you're finished."
"And another thing. You are going to apologize to Blair White. So many people at the hospital saw what happened. You were in the wrong. Don't try to twist the truth here."
Jason Forrester was so incensed by Megan Kane's sarcastic expression that he could barely breathe.
Megan Kane was instantly defiant.
"On what grounds? They're all one big family, so of course they'll say it was my fault. But you should be on my side. Don't tell me you're taking their side too? Are you insane, Jason Forrester?"
"We're the married couple whose bond should be strong enough to sever metal. Even if you want to favor Blair White, at best, she's just the other woman."
"I don't have a problem with you having a mistress, but as the chairman of a company, shouldn't you be maintaining a good public image?"
Megan Kane's words were shocking, and she completely ignored the dark expression that had fallen over the man's face.
"So you don't care about a 'number three'? What about a 'number four' and 'five'?"
Jason Forrester reached out and pulled Megan Kane into his arms.
Before Megan Kane could react, the man had lifted her sideways onto his lap.
"You don't care, do you?"
Without giving Megan Kane a chance to speak, Jason Forrester's mouth descended on hers, biting at her lips.
Her legs were forced apart. She hadn't expected the man before her to be so wild and untamable.
"Jason Forrester, not in the car! Don't!"
"Someone will hear!"
Sweat beaded on Megan Kane's forehead as she tried to break free, but her wrists were pinned tightly.
Her face was flushed red. She wanted to hide, but there was nowhere to go.
The space inside the car was already cramped, and the heat between them steadily grew.
Jason Forrester gripped Megan Kane's waist as their clothes gradually fell to the floor of the car.
"I'll teach you not to care."
His bite was painful.
Megan Kane flinched. "Jason Forrester, I was wrong! I care about you!"
"Hmph. So you really admit you were wrong."
Pain shot through Megan Kane's entire body. She didn't know why Jason Forrester was being so rough.
The temperature inside the car continued to rise, a raging fire consuming their bodies as they tangled together.
Three hours passed.
He leaned back against the seat, a cigarette between his fingers, exhaling clouds of smoke.
Megan Kane grimaced in pain, her body limp against the car seat.
"Get dressed and go home by yourself."
There was no room for negotiation in Jason Forrester's tone.
After straightening her clothes and getting out of the car, Megan Kane stood there and viciously cursed at the departing vehicle, "Bastard!"
'He just uses me and tosses me aside,' she fumed. 'Doesn't even bother to take me home.'
'It's true what they say. A man treats you one way in bed and a completely different way out of it. They're like night and day.'
Megan Kane took out her phone, ordered a ride-share, and prepared to head back to the manor.
