No one paid any attention to Megan Kane's tearful pleas.
Jason Forrester turned and left, but not before leaving a deep hickey on her neck.
The sky hadn't even darkened, yet for Megan Kane, every second felt like a year.
She couldn't move at all. The slightest motion sent the chain behind her JANGLING loudly.
She finally managed to reach her phone and dial a number.
On Rowan Monroe's end, the music was deafening. An image of a wild party materialized in Megan's mind.
"Are you out clubbing?" Megan Kane felt her heart turn as cold as a winter frost.
Rowan Monroe scrambled to turn down the music in the bar before answering. "I was just playing some music on the speakers. I've been so stressed lately, just needed to relax a bit."
"S-So, what's up? Why'd you call?"
Rowan Monroe suddenly felt like a kid caught by her parents.
Her heart pounded with anxiety.
"Jason Forrester locked me in the house with a gold chain. Come over right now, take this chain, and go trade it for cash."
