Megan Kane had expected to spend another lovey-dovey day with him.
But, unexpectedly, he was summoned away by a sudden, inexplicable call from the office. Something was clearly wrong.
'She didn't even know what was happening, or why they would call him away like that.'
But what was done was done. There was no point dwelling on it, and she had no idea how it could be resolved.
Still, there was no sense in worrying. He was already gone, and it wasn't like she could forcibly drag him back.
"Did something happen at the company? Why did they call you back so suddenly? Is there anything I can do to help?"
"If there is, just tell me. Don't be secretive. We're a team, we're supposed to face things together."
Megan Kane believed that they shouldn't keep secrets from each other, but she had no idea what kind of unsolvable problem his company was facing. Her mind was a complete blank.
