Blair White fell silent. No one mentioned the awkward incident again, but no one expected things to take an even more awkward turn.
With the sudden ring of a phone, the unexpected happened right before their eyes.
"What did he want? Why have you gone completely quiet? Did something happen?"
Megan Kane frowned, unsure if something had happened to her best friend.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have clammed up so suddenly, as if she were facing an unsolvable problem.
"Nothing happened. I just got a sudden phone call. He said he had something for me, but I don't know what it is."
Blair White subconsciously shook her head. She truly had no idea what it was about or what was going on.
As for the sudden call, she didn't know how to handle it.
"Then why would he call you out of the blue? If something's wrong, don't keep it to yourself. Tell us. If there's anything we can do to help, we'll try to figure it out. But if you hide it from us, we won't know how to help you."
