Megan Kane hadn't called either, so when her phone suddenly rang, it took her by surprise.
"You're calling me all of a sudden. Is something wrong? If there is, just tell me. I was just thinking about how I haven't heard from you in a while."
Megan Kane was pleasantly surprised. After all, her best friend had completely dropped off the map for a while, and she had been wondering if something had happened.
Getting back in touch was a good thing. At least the two of them could communicate like they used to.
They wouldn't have to let misunderstandings continue to fester, leaving everything unresolved.
But the matter at hand was difficult to discuss. It was impossible to feel at peace about it.
