The man shoved her back, releasing his grip on Seraphina Sterling's chin.
"I've told you over and over, the Jade Bracelet isn't with me! That thing is completely useless to me! It's brought me nothing but trouble, so I have no reason to keep it!" Seraphina Sterling was exasperated. She'd lost count of how many times she'd said it, but no one ever believed her. 'Is there something wrong with these people's heads?'
"Quite a performance. Very convincing. If I hadn't received some intel just before this, I might have actually believed you—that the Jade Bracelet isn't on you. Then I'd put a bullet in you, send you on your way, and continue my search."
The man sneered. "However, I just received word that the Jade Bracelet is right here with you. Stop wasting time. Hand it over, and you'll save us both a lot of trouble."
