"He's just a private tutor, what's there to be proud of! Besides, I paid for the tutoring!" Seraphina Sterling pouted, deliberately covering up the fact that Terrence Grant had been training her. "It's just high school material. Any private tutor could handle it!"
The two had a tacit understanding. When Terrence Grant heard Seraphina say this, he immediately understood her reservations. "Without my careful instruction, could you even have gotten into high school? So ungrateful!"
"I paid you, and you tutored me. It was just a transaction, mutually agreed upon. Gratitude has nothing to do with it!" Seraphina deliberately tried to distance herself from him, not wanting to cause any unnecessary misunderstandings among the crowd.
