Arabella Donovan and the others were taken aback. She'd already escaped? Had they rushed all this way only to be one step too late?
Logan Lockhart felt as if he'd been struck in the head with a heavy hammer. He swayed on his feet and nearly collapsed.
Jessica Lockhart quickly steadied her brother, her voice laced with exasperation. "Get a grip. Just because we haven't found her doesn't mean something bad has happened."
"Right, she has to be okay. There has to be another way. Hurry up and find her! So many people come and go in this complex. A grown woman running for her life with a group of men chasing her—someone must have seen something. Have you asked anyone who lives here? What about... what about the security guard at the gate? He definitely knows!"
As Logan spoke, he turned to find the security guard at the complex gate, but someone stopped him.
