Simon Sherwood and his wife were completely stunned. Beside them, Scott Sherwood and Bethany Lewis were trembling with extreme agitation.
"Niuniu, you're our Niuniu, aren't you?" Bethany stumbled toward Iris Dalton, her vision blurring with tears. "When the Family Head took you away back then, Mom was almost driven to despair. But you've finally come back. You've come back to Mom..."
Bethany wept uncontrollably, leaning on her husband, Scott, for support. The couple stared intently at Iris, their eyes brimming with hope and longing.
Standing nearby, Master Sherwood looked absolutely shocked, completely bewildered by the scene unfolding before him. "What are you talking about? When did I ever take your daughter away?"
He certainly wasn't going to take the blame for this!
The couple froze, turning their heads in unison to look at Old Mr. Sherwood.
