The man heard Stella Sterling's muttering and smiled knowingly.
He had long known her temperament, so there was no point in arguing with her over trivial matters.
A moment of silence passed.
Roman Rhodes lit a cigarette, his handsome face becoming hazy and inscrutable behind the thin veil of smoke.
"How many days are you planning to stay in Vicenza?"
"About two days. I'll probably head back the day after tomorrow." Stella Sterling's eyes curved into crescents as she asked him casually, as if it were an afterthought, "What about you, Mr. Rhodes?"
The man exhaled a soft puff of smoke, his expression gentle. "Same as you. I'm returning to Calderin the day after tomorrow."
Stella Sterling's eyes lit up.
She felt a small thrill of joy.
He hadn't been in Calderin for the past few days, and she hadn't felt right about messaging him.
Matters at the Port Vesper Group were numerous and complex, and since they weren't in the same city, she had no suitable reason to contact him.
