With Calvin's defeat and capture, the remaining Black Teeth Mercenaries completely lost their will to fight. They threw down their weapons and squatted on the ground, heads bowed, accepting their fate.
The war was finally over.
After a headcount, of the original fifty-man elite corps, fewer than ten prisoners remained. The rest had either been killed in battle or, in the case of some Mercenaries, had taken advantage of the chaos to flee.
The Mercenaries who managed to escape were mostly agile, lightly-armored Rangers and Assassins. The remaining heavy-armored Warriors and Mages had suffered devastating casualties. Caught in the repeated bombardments from the artillery and Suicide Bee Soldiers, they had no way to escape and could only surrender where they stood.
