In his sleep, Turk felt as if he had fallen into a huge, cool, and springy mass of Slime Gel.
He desperately tried to stand, but every time he was about to get up, the elastic Gel would send him bouncing back with a SQUISH. He felt like a helpless wretch who had lost his footing on a bouncy mushroom.
He struggled like this for a while, but the sensation didn't fade. Instead, it grew more and more real. He even felt a tangible pressure on his chest, as if something soft was actually lying on top of him.
'Wait, this isn't a dream.'
A jolt shot through Turk, and he snapped awake. He instinctively hugged the tree trunk behind him to keep from falling due to the sudden movement.
As soon as he came to his senses, he felt a distinct weight on his chest. Looking down, he saw a small, green, jelly-like creature resting peacefully on him, rising and falling gently with his every breath.
A flash of confusion gave way to realization, and Turk's eyes shot wide open.
"A… a Slime?!"
