Inside the hall, azure smoke from an incense burner rose like wisps of cloud. Hundreds of Outer Sect Disciples, all clad in uniform blue, cloud-patterned robes, sat cross-legged on cushions woven from Clear Heart Grass. They seemed to be seated upon the very clouds, each holding a scroll of either the Basic Qi Refining Outline or the Initial Understanding of the Five Elements.
The disciples would sometimes lift their heads, listening with rapt attention as the elder's sermon on the Great Dao echoed from the dais throughout the hall. At other times, they would lower their heads with furrowed brows, lost in contemplation.
