She wasn't a willful child; she knew safety came first.

Sheela, the squad's Ranger, was the first to spot them. She waved and called out a greeting.
Huck and the others followed suit, while Landon was the last to react, chiming in with a couple of laughs.
Benny ordered him an iced barley tea. Landon downed it in one gulp, his face scrunching up from the cold.
When he opened his eyes again, he was back to his usual self.
