Seraphina Quinn was no match for Cian's strength.
She struggled fruitlessly, tears streaming down her face and splashing onto the back of Cian's hand. It made him so angry he wanted to shove her away.
In the end, his kiss never landed.
He reached out and pinched her chin. "Are you really that unwilling?"
Seraphina Quinn's throat tightened, her voice choked with sobs. "I am."
Cian released her and slammed his fist into the nightstand, breaking the skin on the back of his hand.
As blood trickled down his hand, he pulled himself off Seraphina Quinn.
The wound on his chest hadn't healed yet. Even if he wanted to possess Seraphina Quinn, now was not the time.
After all, an unhealed injury would severely affect his performance.
He couldn't just think about his own fleeting pleasure without considering Seraphina Quinn's feelings.
So, Cian had only wanted to test just how unwilling she truly was.
