Chu Jing and Chu Ji had clearly come prepared. The two servants immediately panicked, trying to talk their way out of it. "No one put us up to this! We heard the Second Young Master say it with our own ears. Second Young Master, surely you can't forbid us from telling the truth."
Chu Ji chuckled lightly. "You'd better think this through carefully. This matter implicates His Majesty. If this goes wrong, you could be beheaded, and your entire extended families executed."
Chu Jing also looked at the pair. "Indeed. Not just you, but your families won't escape either."
The two servants' faces instantly drained of color. Completely terrified, they began kowtowing incessantly. "We'll talk! It was Lü'er, the Miss's maid, who gave us money! She told us to say that the Princely Heir's injury was connected to the Second Young Master and Aunt Mei. Marquis, please spare our lives!"
Their entire extended families executed? That paltry sum of silver was nowhere near enough to buy their lives!
