Iris Yates didn't notice anything strange about Rhett Reynolds. Hearing his words, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said with a touch of pride, "Well, of course! I'm a quick study!"
Even though she didn't think she sang particularly well, she didn't want to hear any criticism from him.
Rhett Reynolds inwardly gritted his teeth when he heard that. 'Why wasn't there a love song duet when *we* were paired up? I want to hug this girl too.'
Luna Morgan and Leo Bishop seized the opportunity to grab the microphones. Beaming at the crowd, Luna announced, "We'll go first then. We're singing 'Little Dimples.' Thank you."
Rhett Reynolds then realized that their delay had cost them their turn; someone else had beaten them to it. Moreover, the duo of Luna Morgan and Leo Bishop was a very strong competitor.
When the song ended, everyone broke into spontaneous applause. Iris Yates looked particularly stunned. "Luna, your voice is absolutely beautiful!"
