Shalma Hughes felt that Stella Winslow was a bit too overly familiar. This was only their second meeting, yet Stella gave off the distinct impression that they had known each other for ages and were already close friends.
It was absolutely baffling!
"Uh... Miss Winslow, I'm quite flattered that you'd bring me dinner yourself," Shalma said truthfully.
Stella took out the side dishes from the food container. "You're going to be Julian's wife, so who else am I supposed to suck up to? If I ever mess up in the future and Julian wants to punish me, getting you to plead my case will be a piece of cake. A little pillow talk, and he definitely won't look into it any further. You know what I mean, Shalma!" As she said those last few words, Stella gave her a playful, suggestive wink.
That wink made Shalma, who had just taken a sip of water, choke violently.
Using pillow talk on Julian Winslow? She was incapable of pulling that off; Stella was giving her way too much credit.
