'Who moves in together after a one-night stand?'
She had already fallen into one trap; she wasn't about to fall into another.
She had to summon all her courage to say this, looking directly into Dylan Heston's deep, unreadable eyes.
"You mean you're not going to take responsibility for what happened?" His gaze sharpened. Nancy Hughes stood up. "Um, I should get going."
She wanted to leave but couldn't find her purse. Turning back, she gave an awkward smile. "Where's my purse?"
"On the sofa."
"Thanks!"
Muttering her thanks, she hurried over to the sofa, grabbed her purse, and left.
The same road, the same panic, the same helplessness.
Only when she was safely in a taxi did she finally dare to take a deep breath.
The look Dylan Heston had given her just now was cold and menacing, instantly reminding her of who he was.
'The Dylan Heston from the rumors... he would have a look just like that.'
It had truly scared her to death.
