When Annelise Valentine returned to Veridia, she didn't go back to the Valentine family's home. Instead, she caught a cab and headed straight to the Supercar Club.
Upon arriving, she pushed open the doors. A rush of warm air, mingling with the scent of leather and coffee, washed over her.
The Supercar Club's lobby was spacious and quiet. Sitting on the corner sofas were the people she wanted to see most in this lifetime: Chloe Fairchild, Sean Conrad, and Zane Patterson.
Sean was the first to spot her. He bounced up from the sofa. "Annelise, you're back! You were totally right. Chloe and I went to the airport overnight to intercept him."
He threw a glance at Zane. "Zane had already checked in. He was one step away from boarding, but we literally dragged him right back from the security checkpoint!"
