When Phoebe Faulkner saw what Jace Lennox was doing, her heart skipped a beat. She scrambled to her feet and stood on the bed, pressing herself flat against the wall. She eyed him warily, a trace of tension in her gaze. "You... What do you think you're doing?"
Jace Lennox stared at her, his face an icy mask.
"Get down on your own."
Jace Lennox ordered.
Phoebe Faulkner pressed herself even tighter against the wall. Her eyes darted from the belt Jace was holding to his now beltless pants.
She shook her head.
'Caught lying. Caught talking behind his back.'
'I must have the worst luck in the universe to get caught red-handed by Jace!'
She didn't have time to wonder how Jace knew she was lying, or how he'd found her here.
"Are you getting down or not?"
Jace asked again.
His tone was even harsher this time.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees with his voice, and Phoebe was so scared her legs began to feel weak.
