The words on the paper instantly changed: "Rule One: Without Jace Lennox's permission, Phoebe Faulkner is forbidden from going out at night! If she must go out during the day, she must return home by five in the afternoon!"
Jace Lennox's handwriting was beautiful, powerful and strong.
Phoebe Faulkner, however, had no time to appreciate it right now.
If Jace Lennox had been completely dictatorial, Phoebe Faulkner would have had an excuse to raise a fuss. But he had changed the agreement before she had even finished speaking. If she protested again, she would just seem like she was being unreasonable.
"Rule Two: Do not wear overly revealing clothing!"
"Rule Three: No improper contact with other men!"
"Rule Four..."
The further Phoebe Faulkner read, the more laughable it became. "Aren't you overstepping your bounds a little? I owe you money and I'm working for you to pay it back, but you have no right to meddle with what I wear or who I associate with, do you?"
