Phoebe waited anxiously for her supervisor to arrive, and when she finally did, Phoebe kept stealing glances toward her desk, hoping her revised draft would pass muster this time.
However, she waited from nine o'clock through the entire morning, and still, her supervisor hadn't called for her.
Phoebe hung her head in disappointment.
By lunchtime, she was completely listless.
Phoebe was sitting listlessly with her lunch tray when another was placed on the table opposite her. The soft clatter made her look up to see Caleb Calloway sitting down.
"Director Calloway." Seeing it was someone she knew, Phoebe put down her chopsticks and smiled.
"Why so listless?" Caleb Calloway settled into the seat, chewing his gum. He studied Phoebe's downcast expression and grinned. "Don't tell me Jace was giving you a hard time."
Phoebe really didn't want to talk about Jace Lennox.
She shook her head. "No."
