Jace had gone downstairs to prepare breakfast for Phoebe. It was a simple meal of milk and bread.
Phoebe had spent the last few days with Ronan Langdon, and Jace didn't know if Ronan had told her anything he shouldn't have. He had a lot of friends, and his circle was a chaotic one. They didn't all know each other, but certain things he wanted to keep from Phoebe were common knowledge among them.
What he needed to do now was to give Phoebe a dose of reassurance, regardless of what Ronan might have said, to stop her from overthinking things.
Jace carried the milk and bread upstairs. The moment he pushed the door open, he saw Phoebe standing in the bathroom.
The door was open. She was standing in the bathroom, looking straight ahead, though at what, he couldn't tell.
But Jace quickly realized.
He'd smashed the bathroom mirror last night and hadn't gotten around to having it replaced yet.
