Jace Lennox watched Phoebe Faulkner's retreating figure and fell silent.
Finn Vaughn stood beside Jace Lennox. He glanced at him, then looked in the direction Phoebe Faulkner had just gone. 'If it weren't for all that business with the Lennox family,' he thought, 'maybe the boss wouldn't have to do any of this.'
'I just hope he's taken care of everything by the time they get back.'

They had decided on the trip one day, and the next, Phoebe Faulkner and Lionel Faulkner were boarding a plane with Finn Vaughn.
Jace Lennox drove them to the airport himself. He reminded Phoebe Faulkner to take care of herself, told Finn Vaughn to look after them both, and asked Phoebe to call him the moment she landed. He went on and on, so much so that for the first time, Phoebe thought the man was a real nag.
And yet, as soon as she was on the plane, she started to miss him.
