Seeing Henry Lester's gaze grow colder, Yara Quillan took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and looked directly into his inscrutable eyes. "You already knew, didn't you? Why bother asking me?"

Looking at the file on the coffee table, she was certain that every trip she had taken to the bathroom in the past five years had been thoroughly investigated and documented.
"No." After a few seconds of direct eye contact, her courage was completely worn away by his deep-set eyes.

"The reason."
"Because I like it."
