Yara Quillan shifted slightly, wrapping her arms around Henry Lester's waist and burying her face against him. Beneath her faintly trembling eyelashes, the small face that had been tense all day finally relaxed, yet it held a trace of unease that would make anyone's heart ache to see.
Henry Lester let out a long sigh, his hand reaching up to stroke her familiar cheek. He tried to smooth the slight frown from Yara Quillan's brow, but her sleeping form tensed subconsciously. Seeing that she was about to wake, Henry Lester grew worried he would disturb her and quickly pulled his hand away.
He didn't know how long he watched that wary little face before Henry Lester finally pulled her close and drifted off to sleep.
