He looked away and led Moira Irving downstairs. Before leaving, however, he turned back and told Yara Quillan, "When I got to the hospital, the boss was in surgery."
With that, he truly went downstairs.
Yara Quillan stood in the room, listening to their retreating footsteps. Although she told herself she didn't care, she knew that Henry Lester must have been gravely injured this time.
Thinking of her mother and brother, she resolutely shut her eyes. 'This has nothing to do with me. Nothing at all.'
By the time Ian Shannon and Moira Irving rushed to the hospital, Henry Lester still hadn't come out of the operating room. Owen Morgan was still keeping watch in the corridor outside.
Moira Irving spotted the bespectacled Owen Morgan at a glance. Looking angry, she strode up to him, scanned him from head to toe, and said, "So you're the Owen Morgan Yara told me about?"
