Sitting on the floor, Yara Quillan looked up. As soon as she got a clear look at the person's face who had just walked in, her expression changed in an instant.
The man at the door froze when he saw Yara Quillan, a flash of astonishment crossing his face. After a long moment, he ran over to her. "Woman, what happened to you? Who tied you up like this?"
The person who came in was none other than Brendan Callahan, whom she hadn't seen in ages.
Yara Quillan watched him untie her, then glanced at the bodyguards standing off to the side. They were still like a pair of wooden blocks, showing no reaction at all to Brendan Callahan freeing her. She couldn't help but find it strange.
"Brendan Callahan, what are you doing here?" Once freed from her bonds, Yara Quillan got to her feet. Her legs had gone numb from sitting on the cold floor for so long.
