Yara Quillan remained in a protective posture, cradling the child in her belly. Even when Jared Monroe, Silas Lennox, and Lucian Sloan rushed to her side, her subconscious reaction was still to lash out.
Just then, Lucian Sloan stared at Yara Quillan and suddenly cried out, "Brother, Yara's covered in blood!"
The color drained from Jared Monroe's face. The three men surrounded her, struggling to restrain Yara Quillan and stop her from continuing her endless, unconscious attacks. More importantly, they needed to keep her from hurting herself. Jared Monroe knocked her unconscious before rushing her to the nearest hospital.
Yara Quillan's water had broken.
Seven months!
God only knew if a seven-month-old baby could survive.
Yara Quillan was rushed into the emergency room. Jared Monroe pointed a gun at all the best doctors and told them that if they couldn't save her, they wouldn't be coming out, either.
And so, time ticked by, second by agonizing second.
