Mr. Fairchild wasn't the least bit embarrassed to be caught staring. He calmly withdrew his gaze from Zachary Fairchild, his voice even:
"Isn't that because you didn't turn out right?" Mr. Fairchild shot Zachary Fairchild a look, calmly retorting.
Zachary Fairchild opened his mouth to rebut Mr. Fairchild, but Mrs. Fairchild quickly interrupted him.
"Alright, that's enough. Stop arguing. Zachary, was what you just said true?"
Mrs. Fairchild asked again, clearly still finding it hard to believe that Olivia Wynne was really pregnant.
"It's true," Zachary answered firmly.
"It really is? Oh, that's wonderful!" Mrs. Fairchild exclaimed, her voice filled with obvious delight.
'I've been green with envy watching everyone else hold their grandchildren. Now, it's finally my turn.'
Upon hearing this, Mr. Fairchild's expression softened considerably. He walked over to Mrs. Fairchild, put an arm around her shoulders, and looked at Zachary.
"You're done here. You can go now."
