Night fell.
The stars glittered brightly as Xu Jinghe's airport shuttle arrived at the gate of the Beijing Military Region. He pulled a pass from his pocket and showed it to the soldier on duty.
At that moment, Jiang Ye was seeing Gu Che out.
Her gaze fell on a man standing not far away. He was tall, with fair skin, and his face looked somewhat familiar. He was holding an expensive brick phone.
Jiang Ye stopped in her tracks.
Gu Che asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Jiang Ye shook her head, forcing a smile as she explained, "I thought I saw someone I knew, but I can't remember who."
Gu Che didn't press the matter.
Once they reached the military region gate, Jiang Ye waved to Gu Che with a beaming smile. "I'm busy tomorrow, so you can come tutor me the day after."
'God, what a day I've had.'
'Just looking at those books made my head spin, but in front of Gu Che, I had to act like I loved studying.'
"Okay," Gu Che nodded.
