Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The first meet

We used to go to school every single day without fail. It was not just a place of study for us—it was a world of its own, filled with laughter, dreams, and unforgettable memories. Our school was huge, almost like a small kingdom. At the front, there was a vast playground where students spent their time playing football, cricket, and various other games. The sound of laughter and cheering always filled the air during recess.

Beside the playground, there was a beautiful garden full of colorful flowers. Different types of roses, marigolds, and seasonal blooms made the place look like a paradise. Sometimes, we would sit there quietly, enjoying the gentle breeze and talking about our dreams. There was also a clean and well-maintained swimming pool, along with many other facilities that made our school one of the best in the area.

We studied in Room No. 14, which had become like a second home to us. There were many students in our class, each with their own personality and charm. Among them, I, Sanjib, and Kartik were inseparable. We were known as the "three best friends" of the class. We sat together, studied together, and even got punished together sometimes.

Our friendship was built on trust and support. Whenever anyone faced difficulty—whether in studies or personal matters—we stood by each other. If someone didn't understand a lesson, the others would explain it patiently. If someone forgot their lunch, we shared ours without hesitation. Our teachers were also very kind and affectionate toward us. They guided us not only in academics but also in life.

In this way, our days passed happily, filled with joy, friendship, and countless little moments that made school life so special.

But one day, something happened that changed everything.

It was during our Physics class. We were all busy taking notes when suddenly, the door opened, and our headmaster entered the classroom. Everyone immediately stood up in respect. But what caught our attention was the person standing beside him—a sweet and beautiful girl.

The classroom fell silent.

The headmaster smiled and said, "Sit down, everyone." Then he introduced the girl to us. Her name was Megha. She had recently taken admission to our school. Her voice was soft, and her way of speaking was incredibly gentle. There was something about her presence that made everyone notice her.

She took her seat quietly, but it didn't take long for her to become the center of attention in the class.

Within a few days, Megha started talking to different students. She was friendly, polite, and respectful to everyone. Slowly, she became close to the three of us. At first, it was just casual conversations—about studies, homework, and school life. But gradually, she became a part of our group.

And just like that, our group of three turned into four.

We used to sit together, laugh together, and spend time during breaks. Megha's presence brought a new energy into our group. She had a way of making even the dullest moments feel lively. Kartik often cracked jokes, I used to observe everything quietly, and Sanjib… well, Sanjib seemed different around Megha.

At first, we didn't notice it clearly. But slowly, it became obvious.

Falling in Love

One day, during our Mathematics class, something happened that made everything clearer.

Our math teacher was known for being very strict. He believed in discipline and didn't tolerate even the smallest mistake. That day, he gave us several problems to solve and asked us to work quietly.

We all started solving them.

Megha, however, was not very strong in mathematics. She tried her best, but one of the problems seemed too difficult for her. After struggling for a while, she gently leaned toward Sanjib and whispered, "Can you please show me how to solve this?"

Sanjib hesitated for a moment but then nodded. He started explaining the solution step by step in a low voice.

But unfortunately, their quiet conversation did not go unnoticed.

"Sanjib! Stand up!" the teacher suddenly shouted.

The entire class froze.

Sanjib was startled. He quickly stood up, looking nervous. "What happened, Sir?" he asked.

The teacher looked at him sternly. "Why are you showing Megha the solution? Doesn't she know how to solve it herself?"

Sanjib lowered his head. "Sorry, Sir," he said softly.

"Keep quiet! Stand there!" the teacher ordered.

The rest of the class continued in silence, but the atmosphere had changed. Megha looked extremely uncomfortable. She kept her head down, feeling guilty.

After what felt like a long time, the class finally ended, and the teacher left the room.

As soon as he was gone, Megha turned to Sanjib with regret in her eyes.

"I am really sorry for what happened today," she said. "If I had known this would happen, I would never have asked you…"

Sanjib smiled gently. "It's okay," he replied.

"No, it's not okay," Megha insisted. "You got punished because of me."

Sanjib paused for a moment and then said something that surprised all of us.

"To gain something good, sometimes you have to give up something good."

Megha looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"

Sanjib quickly shook his head. "Oh, nothing. Leave it. Let's go and play."

But Megha was not foolish. She understood what he meant. There was a subtle change in her expression—a mix of realization and something deeper.

She smiled softly and said, "Okay… let's go."

From that day, things started to change.

Sanjib became more caring toward Megha. He would help her in studies, share notes, and make sure she never felt alone. Megha, in return, trusted him deeply. She often chose to sit beside him, talk to him, and spend more time with him.

We, as their friends, noticed everything.

Kartik would sometimes tease Sanjib, and I would simply smile, watching their story unfold silently.

Their bond grew stronger day by day. It was not loud or dramatic. There were no grand gestures or confessions. It was simple, pure, and genuine.

A look, a smile, a small act of care—that was enough.

Sometimes, during lunch breaks, we would sit together under a tree in the garden. Megha would laugh at Kartik's jokes, I would join the conversation occasionally, and Sanjib would just sit there, quietly watching Megha with a soft smile.

It was clear—he had fallen in love.

And slowly, Megha had too.

Their story became a beautiful part of our school life. Everyone in the class started noticing them. They looked perfect together—like a pair made for each other.

But more than their appearance, it was their connection that made them special.

There was trust.

There was understanding.

There was respect.

And most importantly, there was a kind of love that felt pure and timeless.

Looking back now, those days feel like a dream.

Our school, our classroom, our friendship, and the beginning of a beautiful love story—it all remains etched in my heart.

Sanjib and Megha's love was not just a simple school romance. It was something deeper, something meaningful.

It felt eternal—like a symbol of hope, innocence, and the beauty of young hearts discovering love for the very first time.

And even today, when I think about those days, I can't help but smile… because some memories never fade.
