In the bedroom.
Sierra Sullivan sat in the bathtub, enveloped by the hot water. She let out a long, comfortable sigh.
She had been out for three days, her nerves on edge every single moment.
It had only been three days, but looking back, it felt like she had been through an incredible amount.
While she wasn't exhausted, mind and body, she was genuinely tired.
Sierra didn't get out of the tub until her stomach started to growl.
After changing into comfortable, clean clothes and giving her hair a quick towel-dry, Sierra headed out.
As soon as she entered the living room, she saw Jayce, shirtless, drying his hair.
They stood facing each other. Their eyes met, but neither spoke a word.
Sierra blinked. "Why... are you not wearing a shirt?"
It wasn't even May yet, and with the constant sandstorms, the weather wasn't just not hot—it was actually a bit cold.
She herself was wearing not only a knit shirt but a jacket as well.
