A young man in a white lab coat emerged from the corner.
It was the same mild-mannered researcher from yesterday.
He walked toward Josie Quinn step by step. "What you said… has the outside world really become like that?"
Josie Quinn flashed him a smile. "What do you want to hear? The apocalypse has been going on for nearly a year. Most of the survivors are fighting for resources to stay alive. Without enough food, is it so hard to imagine that sort of thing happening?"
His face grew a shade paler, his expression pained. "Are there… are there still many people alive out there?"
He stared intently at Josie Quinn's face, terrified she would say only a few were left.
'If that's the case, what's the point of me staying here to run experiments?'
"Many. But there are more zombies, without a doubt. Any ordinary person who has survived until now is either protected by a superpower user or is hardened themselves."
The young man fell silent.
