Julian Ford leaned down slightly, close to her ear. His voice dropped lower, yet was perfectly clear. "Finn Payne... I dealt with him."
Josie Quinn froze, blinking, as if she couldn't process what he'd said.
After several seconds, a wave of immense joy washed over her. She hugged Julian Ford's arm tightly, her eyes shining with astonishing brightness, as if they held a thousand stars. "Really? You're not kidding me? He's... really dead?"
"Mhm," Julian Ford said, the smile in his eyes deepening as he watched her joyful expression. He raised a hand and gently ruffled her hair. "So you won't have to live in constant fear. I dealt with him for good before he could become a bigger threat, to eliminate any future problems."
"That's amazing!" Josie Quinn exclaimed, giving him an enthusiastic thumbs-up, her face filled with undisguised adoration and pride. "That's my Julian for you! You're amazing at everything!"
