Not long after Bella Dillon jumped into the lake this time, The Murkwood Loch began to bubble and soon erupted.
Seeing this, Faye Yardley took two steps back.
'The water looks like it's boiling. Is Bella going to get cooked?'
The sounds of a struggle and occasional curses echoed from the lake.
Many flying fish were blasted out of the water, and some even landed at Faye Yardley's feet. She crouched down to look at a small, dark flying fish, smiled when their eyes met, then put on her gloves and quickly stashed it in her backpack.
'How strange. The system didn't prompt that it could be disassembled, nor did it say the fish was contaminated.'
So, Faye started gathering the small flying fish nonstop, planning to take them back to the raft to feed the cat.
With a loud THUD, more than half of a fish tail was flung onto the shore. It was still fresh, twitching and streaked with blood.
Faye Yardley quickly threw on her poncho and ran halfway around the lake to get to it.
