On their way up the mountain, Master Veridian and Zephyr Sterling encountered all sorts of animals. They killed some and scared off others, but finally made it to the peak.
"This place is pretty big. Doesn't look like anyone lives here."
Standing beside his master, Zephyr Sterling looked down and saw two small figures bobbing up and down in the tall grass.
"Hmm. Master, what are you thinking?"
"What thoughts could an old man like me have?"
"Heh." Zephyr Sterling knew that ever since his master had returned from the Isle of Damnation, he'd been obsessed with setting up a Protective Array. But no matter what he tried on the raft, it was never successful; the system wouldn't recognize it.
So, the chance to be on an uninhabited island where he could experiment freely with the terrain was an incredibly tempting prospect for his master.
"I think you should probably let Yardley know. After all, she's the one who brought us to the island, right?"
